It's National Retinol Day! ✨

As someone who is committed to aging gracefully and as naturally as possible, I'm all about taking care of my skin and have been very serious about my regimen for well over a decade. I take ongoing educational courses from sought after professionals in the skincare & wellness industries and switch up my personal routine as the seasons change and as new science emerges. Since it's #nationalretinolday, I figured I'd highlight some fun facts for you!

Retinol is the primary naturally occurring form of vitamin A, which is a derivative that helps the acceleration of skins cell turnover. Cellular turnover helps to liven the superficial layer and slough away dead skin cells. It is one of the best known and most effective ingredients for skin care!

  • Retinol has been reported to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Retinol helps the skin feel firmer and more supple

  • Retinol helps the skin's overall appearance

If you've been apprehensive in trying retinol due to having more sensitive skin, you'll probably love the one I use. This #retinol is formulated with Ectoin, which helps moisturize and soothe with antioxidant properties. It also contains Poly-Pore 120, which offers a sustained release to help improve stability and reduce irritation. I personally use mine 2-3 times per week, at night only. I use a great SPF the next day (we all should be wearing SPF daily, but especially while using retinol), so be sure to pick one up that is at least SPF 50+ Broad Spectrum. I have major sensitivities to SPF products, but this one I LOVE and use every day. Fun fact, it also has brightening properties and wears beautifully under makeup! Bonus!

Here's a link to the retinol I use. If you want to try for yourself, let me know and I'll share a coupon code. 😉
